Time allocation motion on six government bills

Motion passed 46 to 44

A government motion under Standing Order 81.1 (2) that set the times by which all remaining stages of Bills 5, 7, 11, 13, 14 and 15 were to be disposed of, the last of them by 8 p.m. on May 28, 2025.

Standing Order 81.1 provides for time allocation: a set and limited period for the consideration of one or more stages of a public bill. It does not end debate at once; it sets the time by which a decision on the stage must be made. A Minister moves the motion and it is decided at once, without debate or amendment. A recorded division on it decides only the timetable, not any of the bills it names.
