Amends statutes in four ministry areas covering justice, energy and climate solutions, housing and municipal affairs and public safety.
A Miscellaneous Statutes Amendment Act carries unrelated amendments from several ministries in one bill. This one changes the Judicial Review Procedure Act so that certified cabinet and Treasury Board confidences cannot be compelled in a judicial review, and removes the section on delay before applying; the Zero-Emission Vehicles Act, dropping the two earlier sales targets and lowering the 2035 target from 100 to 75 percent of new vehicles; the Fuel Price Transparency Act, adding interest and debt recovery on unpaid fees; the Local Government Act, Vancouver Charter and transit authority Act, letting cabinet name development categories exempt from development cost charges; the two tenancy Acts; and the Correction Act, allowing force to assist a treatment provider treating an inmate.
